ADULT EDUCATION

The purpose of the Adult Education Program is to provide a variety of weekly opportunities for Bible study, faith formation, and community building designed to transform the adults of the Sunset Ridge Church into authentic, mature Christians.  The Adult Education Program seeks to serve its purpose by:

• Helping us understand and articulate our faith.

• Discovering the “need to know” relevancy of scripture

• Grasping the meaning of God’s scripture

• Equipping each other for narrative evangelism

• Sharing our personal narratives - how God is active in our lives

• Guiding us to mature Christian behavior

• Identifying and improving aspects of conduct at home, school, workplace, and neighborhood

• Equipping each other for growth and action in personal, family, group, and community settings

• Motivating us for Christian service

• Identifying and equipping each other for service in a variety of areas

• Sharing testimonies of the servers and those who were served

 Each quarter the class choices include a mixture of Bible studies, special topics, and applied classes.  The class teaching methods utilize a variety of teaching formats including lecture and discussion.

Adult Education Teacher Training

Each year in the spring everyone (not just teachers) is invited to a teacher training workshop with a guest resource person who will share information about teaching the topic for the fall quarter.
