"OFFERING HOPE TO THE HOMELESS"

SAMM (San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries) provides housing, shelter, health care, and other necessities for homeless persons 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  It cannot operate effectively without the help of dedicated volunteers who put their faith into action by ministering to homeless persons in San Antonio.

 The 1st Sunday of each month, Sunset Ridge provides a team of volunteers to work the early shift (5-10 PM) at the SAMM Center, an emergency shelter providing overnight housing for the homeless.  Our work includes:

· Answer phones at the front desk

· Receive and store personal property

· Supervise guests as floor monitors

· Serve dinner and lead a devotional

 Perhaps, though, the most important service we render is our care and concern for those who utilize the shelter.  We invite you to join us in this rewarding ministry.
