Do you believe that deep, lasting change into Christ-likeness is possible?
In II Corinthians 3:18, Paul writes “All of us with unveiled faces ... are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another for this comes from the spirit of the Lord." How does this happen? It happens when we intentionally place ourselves before God and receive his grace. Dallas Willard states that grace “is God acting in our lives to do what we cannot do on our own.” Not only does grace express our salvation but also it expresses God’s attitude of unending love towards us and his work through us. We are transformed by God’s grace; our part is to show up and place ourselves in his hands. We do this through prayer, meditation, silence, worship and other spiritual practices.
Come join us on Wednesday nights to discuss spiritual practices which provide an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to transform our unveiled faces! We will use material and video by Richard Foster, Dallas Willard and others, as well as share our own experiences with these disciplines.
